Two different kinds of progress are visible at LAMP this week, and together they tell the same story. On one part of the site, crews are installing roof purlins on top of the structural steel frame that began with a single column, the framework that will eventually support the roof itself, though the roof is not yet in place. On another, the campus’s water storage tanks continue climbing toward full height, while the detention pond and road infrastructure supporting them take clearer shape by the day.

Neither of these milestones stands alone. Both depend on the sequencing, permitting, and site preparation completed months earlier, and both are visible proof that LAMP’s infrastructure first approach continues to hold up as construction accelerates.

Roof Framing Takes Shape on Top of the Steel

With the structural steel frame now fully erected across multiple bays, crews have moved into the next stage: installing the purlins that will support the building’s roof system once it goes on. Workers are visible along the top of the frame, securing the horizontal steel members that run perpendicular to the main beams, work happening high above the ground, but still framework, not the finished roof itself. This stage requires the same precision that defined the structural steel erection before it. Each purlin has to align exactly with the engineering specifications developed long before construction began, ensuring the roof system performs the way it was designed to once the building is enclosed. It is detailed, deliberate work, carried out well above ground level, and it marks the point where a structural frame starts to become a recognizable building. Crews working at this height rely on the same safety protocols and harnessed access equipment used throughout every phase of steel construction on the campus, a routine but essential part of building safely at scale.

Water Tanks Reach New Heights

These tanks remain part of LAMP’s broader water strategy, which includes more than 50 million gallons of planned storage capacity built to meet Texas Commission on Environmental Quality compliance standards. Detention Pond and Road Infrastructure Take Shape

Nearby, the detention pond that will help manage stormwater across the campus continues to take clearer form. What began as raw excavation has developed into a defined basin, with graded slopes and visible water now sitting where only disturbed earth stood in previous weeks. Detention systems like this one are a core part of LAMP’s water planning, designed to protect both the campus and neighboring properties from the runoff and drainage issues that can accompany large scale development.

Road development is progressing alongside it, with graded surfaces now visible connecting different areas of the site. These internal roads are what will eventually link the campus’s facilities to each other and to Highway 90, supporting both ongoing construction traffic and the long term function of the finished campus. Building that connectivity now, while the rest of the site is still under construction, means the campus will not need to retrofit its internal circulation once facilities are operational.

Seeing the pond and road develop together, rather than as separate, disconnected projects, reflects the same infrastructure first principle guiding every other part of LAMP’s construction. Water management and transportation access are being built as part of one coordinated system, not added individually as afterthoughts.
