The Liberty American Multi-Sourced Power & Innovation Hub is a 701+ acre, infrastructure-first innovation campus in Liberty County, Texas. Manufacturing equipment requires dependable power. Production facilities need water, communications, transportation, drainage, and utility access. Goods must move efficiently between suppliers, manufacturers, distribution networks, and customers.

Companies also need the ability to expand without rebuilding their entire infrastructure strategy.

When these requirements are addressed separately, development can become slower, more expensive, and less adaptable.

The campus is planned around behind-the-meter energy generation operating alongside the regional MISO South power market. Initial planning includes approximately 230 megawatts of natural gas generation and approximately 200 megawatts of solar capacity.

As LAMP develops through multiple phases, the long-term energy strategy includes up to 3 gigawatts of planned capacity.

This approach allows power infrastructure to be developed alongside industrial demand. Instead of treating energy as a connection requested after a facility has been planned, LAMP considers power part of the campus’s underlying industrial infrastructure.

A Campus Designed for Industrial Coexistence

Energy, manufacturing, and logistics are closely connected.

Energy powers the machinery and systems that transform materials into finished products. Manufacturing creates the equipment and components used throughout energy, transportation, defense, industrial automation, and other sectors. Logistics connects raw materials, production stages, suppliers, and customers.

Weakness in one area can affect the entire system.

A facility with advanced equipment cannot operate effectively without reliable power. A manufacturer cannot maintain production if materials and components cannot arrive on schedule. A completed product cannot reach the market without dependable transportation access.

The campus has frontage along Highway 90, access to regional freight networks, proximity to the Port of Houston and George Bush Intercontinental Airport, and the potential to support future rail-served operations.

The industries supported by LAMP may have different products, processes, and customers, but many of them depend on similar infrastructure.

Advanced manufacturing, robotics, aerospace, defense-related production, rare earth magnet manufacturing, semiconductor manufacturing, medical technologies, research, logistics, and industrial equipment all require dependable utilities and efficient transportation.

They may also benefit from being located near complementary operations.

A manufacturer could operate near component suppliers, material processors, machining facilities, testing operations, engineering teams, and logistics providers. Materials and finished products could move between facilities without relying entirely on long-distance transportation. Infrastructure improvements could serve multiple operations instead of being developed repeatedly for individual projects.

This is the value of industrial coexistence.

It does not require every company to operate as part of the same organization. It creates an environment where separate industries can benefit from shared infrastructure, physical proximity, and coordinated campus planning.

Water and Utility Planning as Long-Term Infrastructure

Water availability, stormwater management, storage, drainage, communications, and utility distribution can also determine whether a campus can support long-term industrial growth.

LAMP’s water strategy includes more than 50 million gallons of planned storage, detention ponds, rainwater capture, and TCEQ-compliant water management. These systems are intended to support campus resilience while providing a foundation for future industrial requirements.

Planning these systems early allows infrastructure to be developed in coordination with construction phases and anticipated campus growth.

It also reduces the risk of individual utilities becoming barriers as additional industries establish operations.

Development That Remains Connected to the Community

Industrial development should create value beyond the boundaries of the site.

LAMP is being developed with a community-centered approach that emphasizes local opportunity, responsible infrastructure planning, workforce development, transparent communication, and long-term partnerships across Liberty County.

As the campus progresses, local businesses can support construction, transportation, maintenance, professional services, hospitality, supplies, and other operational requirements. Workforce programs can help connect residents with opportunities created by advanced manufacturing and industrial growth.

LAMP also plans to maintain ongoing communication with residents through community representatives, public information sessions, project updates, and the Committee of the Community.

The purpose is not to develop an isolated industrial site. It is to build infrastructure that can grow alongside the region and contribute to its long-term economic foundation.
