July marked a month of broad construction progress across LAMP Texas, with work advancing on the main building, water-storage infrastructure, internal access, utility areas, and site development.
Rather than being defined by one milestone, the month showed steady movement across several parts of the campus at the same time. Steel erection continued on the main building, the main bodies of two water tanks were completed, work began on a third tank, excavation and compaction for the east road were finished, and material from the north pond expansion was reused to support utility-area backfilling.
Together, these activities made July one of the clearest examples so far of how the site is progressing from early preparation into active campus construction.
Vertical Construction Advances on the Main Building
Vertical construction of the main building began on July 1, creating one of the most visible signs of progress on the site.
Throughout the month, crews continued installing the structural columns, main beams, and roof purlins that form the building’s primary steel framework. As more of these components were placed, the shape and scale of the structure became increasingly visible across the campus.
This phase of work followed earlier site preparation and foundation activity and represented a clear shift into the next stage of development. By the end of July, attention was moving toward the wall purlins and the remaining structural work required to prepare the building for enclosure.
The progress completed during the month also established the starting point for August, when planned activities include mezzanine framing and the installation of roof and wall systems.
Two Water Tanks Reach an Important Milestone
Water-storage construction also advanced significantly during July.
Earlier in the month, work continued on both the Raw Water Tank and the Demineralized Water Tank. By July 17, crews had completed the main bodies of both structures, marking a major milestone for the campus’s developing water infrastructure.
Once the tank bodies were completed, the remaining work shifted toward cleanup, stairs, accessories, and final installation details. These activities are required before the tanks can move into later stages of completion and future system integration.
At the same time, construction began on a third tank, allowing the next phase of water-storage development to move forward without waiting for all finishing work on the first two tanks to conclude.
The progress made across these three structures shows that the campus’s water infrastructure is continuing to develop alongside the buildings and site systems it will eventually support.
North Pond Expansion Supports Utility Preparation
Work also continued on the expansion of the north pond during July.
As material was excavated from the pond area, it was transported and reused to backfill utility sections elsewhere on the site. This allowed one construction activity to support another while reducing the need to bring in separate fill material for those areas.
The pond expansion and utility backfilling serve different functions, but their coordination helped keep multiple parts of the project moving forward. The pond contributes to the site’s broader water-management planning, while the backfilled utility areas prepare the ground for future infrastructure work.
This reuse of material reflects practical site management across a development of this scale. Earthwork is being directed where it is needed rather than handled as a separate activity with no connection to the wider construction program.
East Road Excavation and Compaction Completed
Another July milestone was the completion of excavation and compaction for the east road.
This work established the prepared ground needed for the next stages of road development and improved the internal organization of the construction site. As more facilities and infrastructure areas take shape, reliable access routes become increasingly important for the movement of crews, equipment, and materials.
The east road will also form part of the campus’s longer-term internal circulation network. Its development will help connect active construction areas with future buildings, utility zones, water infrastructure, and later phases of the campus.
Completing this portion of the work during July helped strengthen access across the site while preparing the road for the construction stages that follow.
A Month Defined by Parallel Progress
What made July significant was the amount of work taking place across different areas of LAMP at the same time.
The main building moved further into vertical construction while the water tanks reached new milestones. Earthwork at the north pond supported utility preparation, and the east road advanced through excavation and compaction. Each workstream followed its own construction sequence, but all contributed to the broader development of the campus.
This kind of parallel progress becomes increasingly important as a project moves beyond early preparation. Buildings, water systems, roads, utility areas, and site infrastructure must advance in a way that allows each area to support what comes next.
July showed that LAMP is now progressing across several of those areas at once.
Preparing for August Construction
The work completed in July sets up the next stage of activity across the campus.
For the main building, August is expected to include mezzanine framing along with roof and wall installation. These activities will continue moving the structure toward enclosure and create the conditions for later construction inside the building.
Finishing work will also continue on the Raw Water Tank and Demineralized Water Tank, including stairs, accessories, cleanup, and remaining details. Construction of the third tank will proceed as the water-storage system continues to take shape.
Additional work across roads, utilities, earthwork, and site infrastructure will continue supporting the development of the wider campus.
July’s Role in the Larger Development Timeline
July did not represent the completion of a single phase. Instead, it showed the project moving forward through several connected construction activities that will support later work.
The structural steel installed during the month prepares the main building for enclosure. The completed tank bodies move the water infrastructure closer to future use. The east road work improves access, while the north pond excavation supports both water planning and utility preparation.
Each milestone is part of a longer construction sequence, and the value of July lies in how much of that sequence advanced within one month.
